Program Description

Join AITP on October 11, for a spirited discussion on how the now ubiquitous smartphones are bringing on a Post-PC landscape, where we spend increasingly more hours on mobile devices compared to PC’s, socializing, discovering and sharing content, connecting to people and brands. The panel will discuss the role of mobile in the nascent retail environment, where the convergence of online and offline is taking shape through mobile and local experiences, with retailers using mobile as a delivery mechanism for targeted offers, and even as the new payment form factor. Join us to hear what are some of the emerging threats in the horizon that can further influence the role of mobile devices as they are absorbed in to the heart of the enterprise, and shape the future of commerce. Though this event is free, seats are limited.

Program Description

Cloud Computing is as much legend and hype as it is the next technological trend that will impact Information Technology. While many of us still cannot put our fingers on a specific definition of the technology, others are performing an ROI Analysis to sell this technology to the Chief Executive Officers. Join AITP as we explore Cloud Computing, by first demystifying the technology and then by determining the return on investment this technology promises. Through this journey to technology clarity, we will touch on some of the harder to quantify aspects such as security, compliance, and risks to see how those components play into the overall promise of Cloud Computing and ultimately into the return this technology promises on our investment.

Program Description

Recent events (Japan Earthquake and Middle East Unrest) have brought the Energy Industry to the forefront of conversations. With an aging, unreliable and vulnerable electricity grid, the Smart Grid is viewed as the energy Internet and one of the most exciting technologies to come to IT over the next 10 years. Join AITP as we explore Smart Grid as an evolving ecosystem and focus on emerging trends, regulatory issues, promising advancements and future vision for the technology. We will explore the practical uses of the technology, how companies are providing these solutions and the promising opportunities this will have for IT careers. The panel will both provide thought leadership as well as address the emerging security and privacy issues that come with the territory.
