Join AITP as we explore the question: “Are IT Educators and Trainers developing the skills that IT Recruiters and Businesses need to be successful. Learn from hiring managers what they are looking for and the corresponding opportunities created by IT Educators and Trainers. We will explore how IT educators and trainers stay in synch with business and IT needs.

Maureen Carley, BS/MBA – VCU
Currently works in the Information Systems department in the School of Business as a liaison between the business community and the resources of the Department. As Program Director of the “Fast Track” Executive MS-IS (FTEMS) program and Associate Director of the Information Systems Research Institute (ISRI), Maureen works with businesses across the board looking to hire undergraduate student workers / interns, recent graduates for full time positions, faculty and PhD students to assist with research needs, as well as interfacing with high level industry leaders (such as Scott McKay and Ed Gooding) to participate as mentors, guest lecturers, course advisors in VCU’s FTEMS program.
Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP)
The Association of Information Technology Professionals ( www.aitp.org ) was founded in 1951 to provide learning and growth opportunities to data processing managers and staff through networking, chapter activities, conferences, seminars, special interest groups, and several other benefits. Today, AITP offers industry leadership and opportunities for professional development and personal growth to its 7,000 professional and student members in 140 professional and 250 student chapters.
The Richmond Chapter ( www.aitprich.org ) provides the local presence and meeting forum to deliver the most tangible benefits associated with AITP. Meetings take place on the second Tuesday of each month (except December).
